Norsk Interaktiv & SimplyLearn

The Norwegian e-learning companies Norsk Interaktiv AS and SimplyLearn AS today announces a strategic merger to create a leading player in digital learning. The merger combines SimplyLearn's technological strengths with Norsk Interaktiv's pedagogical expertise and solid experience in e-learning. Together, they will offer innovative solutions for both the public and private sectors.

The main goal of the merger is to scale up quickly and deliver flexible e-learning solutions with multiple integration options and expanded applications for customers.

The merger allows us to realise our ambition of offering a powerful and flexible LMS, combined with a world-class Norwegian-developed authoring tool. With Creator and AI at the centre, we take digital learning to a whole new level, says Martin Morfjord, general manager of SimplyLearn AS.

Platform strategy and product focus

At the centre of the initiative is the authoring tool Creatorwhich is now getting a major boost. With a development team that is being multiplied, Creator will be the best Norwegian-produced alternative to American Articulate and Rise. A close integration is being developed between Creator and SimplyLearn's learning management system (LMS), which will make it even easier to build courses, while significantly increasing the possibilities for advanced functionality and customisation.

Creator has also seen strong commercial growth recently, with around 40 new enterprise customers in recent months. Among our new Creator customers we find Skanska, Labour Inspection Authority, Tinde Cabins, Baker Hansen, Veidekke, Transocean and Veøy. Following the launch of the multi-user version in February 2025, many customers are rapidly adding more licences, confirming the need for flexible solutions in businesses that want future-oriented training solutions.

At the same time, the Norsk Interaktiv's existing LMS is preserved, with a clear focus on customers who want a simpler and more straightforward solution for course delivery. This differentiation ensures both continuity for existing users and flexibility for different needs - from user-friendly distribution to advanced, integrated solutions via SimplyLearn LMS.

We've had a long and successful relationship with SimplyLearn, and it's only natural that we now join forces. With our experience in content development, and the growth we've already experienced with Creator, joining forces with a technologically strong company like SimplyLearn will equip us to meet the learning needs of the future., says Arne B. Mikalsen, general manager of Norsk Interaktiv AS.

Positioning in the market will be centred around a comprehensive focus on artificial intelligence. The new company will incorporate AI functionality in Creator for assignment writing, text enhancement, video production and image creation. This gives customers access to advanced tools that significantly streamline and improve course production.
